My 10-year-old just noticed something weird about Fox News commercials… and now I can’t unsee it

My two sons are staying with their grandparents in Florida this week. Sweet folks, but they keep Fox News running nonstop—literally background noise from morning to night.

Yesterday, my 10-year-old apparently told his 15-year-old brother:

“These commercials look weird… like robots made them.”

That caught his older brother’s attention. A few minutes later, I get a FaceTime from the 15-year-old, who says:

“Dad, I think [10yo] is right. These Fox News commercials look totally fake—like AI-generated fake.”

I told him to show me what he meant. He flipped the camera and started recording a few of the ads.

And… he’s not wrong.

The people in the commercials? Their faces don’t move quite right. The expressions feel forced, like they were mapped onto a face rig. The voices have that slightly-too-even tone, like a text-to-speech engine trying to sound “human but polished.” The pacing? Off. The backgrounds? Way too clean. It’s like someone told an AI to make a commercial that “looks trustworthy to boomers.”

Now here’s where it gets unsettling:

What if this isn’t just budget cutting or lazy ad production?

What if they’re gradually feeding AI-generated content to older audiences on purpose—training them not to notice when deepfakes show up? Because if the audience gets used to watching synthetic actors, fake doctors, and generic-looking veterans… they won’t blink when an AI-generated political figure, spokesperson, or “breaking news” segment pops up.

You get used to the uncanny, and then it becomes normal.

I don’t think my kids were being paranoid. I think they caught something real—because once you see it, you can’t unsee it.

Anyone else noticing this on Fox or other networks?
