Congressional oversight of the Federal Reserve is likely to ramp up sharply after a series of unprecedented steps by the central bank that has expanded its role into nearly every corner of the financial system. House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) said he is planning hearings on the Fed in February.
