I suspect Iran has an EMP weapon, possibly they got it from Russia. Basically a nuke with minimal radiation (it's rumored the US developed the technology in the 60s) that's detonated over a large city at high altitude and the EMP fries all electrical devices in the area. Power grids, computers, phones, internet modems, lights, car batteries, anything with electrical wiring or a microchip will become a piece of junk.

Iranian officials have stated that they will retaliate soon, but that they will use a new weapon that makes nukes unnecessary to develop. Israel is a cutting edge society that relies heavily on its technology compared to Lebanon or Iran, making them much more vulnerable to such attacks. Hitting a major economic center or military base would devastate Israel's economy or military capability.
