The EU’s worst nightmare has come true: Donald Trump is returning to the White House. It’s not hard to imagine the panic that many leaders must feeling as they gather this morning in Budapest for the European Political Community summit. Most of them, after all, have spent the past four years undermining the EU’s strategic interests by submissively aligning themselves with the Biden Administration’s reckless foreign policy everywhere from China to Gaza. The result? Europe today is more politically, economically and militarily vassalised to America than at any point since 1945.

I've been thinking a lot about the current political climate and wanted to share my perspective. Left and right are just two wings of the same bird. Neither side are our friends, they're just there to divide us. Here's why I believe this:
Historical Roots: The terms "left" and "right" date back to the French Revolution, where they were used to describe seating arrangements of political factions, Left was the Labour class, Right wad the Conservative class.
Shared Objectives: Despite their apparent differences, both sides often pursue similar goals, such as maintaining power, control, and upholding our current economic system. This suggests that their opposition is more about strategy than real ideological differences.
Polarization Tactics: Extreme partisanship leads to polarization, making it hard for people to find common ground. This division distracts us from more significant issues that affect everyone, regardless of political affiliation.
Media Amplification: Media outlets thrive on amplifying the differences between the left and right to attract viewers and readers, perpetuating the cycle of division.
Common Issues: Many critical issues, like economic inequality, healthcare, and education, impact people across the political spectrum. By focusing on these shared interests, we can see that unity is more beneficial than division.
In conclusion, while the left and right are often portrayed as opposing forces, they are essentially two wings of the same political bird. Both sides are part of a system that thrives on division, distracting us from the real issues that affect us all. By recognizing this, we can focus on our shared interests and work towards solutions that benefit everyone.
