NO WAL-MART at BARBER PROPERTY LOCATION in BROOMFIELD, CO
I, the undersigned, and my family strongly urge the members of the Broomfield City Council, acting as BURA, to reject any forthcoming proposals to purchase the Barber property at 4651 W. 120th Ave. by the Wal-Mart Corp. We firmly believe Wal-Mart is NOT A GOOD NEIGHBOR and would have an extremely detrimental effect on our local businesses, property values, traffic patterns, local wages, unemployment numbers, our taxes due to increased public health care costs, the crime rate, the environment, and the general social and economic health and well being of our community. We strongly oppose the use of our sales tax dollars enabling the building of a Wal-Mart, the world's richest retailer, in Broomfield. Furthermore, we pledge to NOT SHOP at any future Wal-Mart built in Broomfield. Depending on the survival of existing similar retailers, this may well result in our spending our tax dollars outside of Broomfield.

Your support is critically needed. Please contact your city council members by email or by phone and let them know that the citizens of Broomfield believe that Wal-Mart is NOT the solution to the 120th Avenue corridor. We encourage you to forward this petition page to your family, friends and neighbors to enlist their help in ensuring that Broomfield remains a responsible and progressive community.
