Freedom of information and the evils of free will. Authoritarianism against Liberty?
People tend to value liberty a lot nowadays. But should it really be considered a relevant value in itself? I believe individuals need a healthy amount of liberties in a decent society, but these liberties shouldn't be above their responsibilities with their own.
With the way technology has been advancing over the years, people have way more power to access all kinds of information now. But I'm sure there is an evil aspect to these liberal movement by the people in power. How much freedom of information can you give to people before it becomes a type of degeneracy by itself? People have a tendency to escape the truth when it is convenient and modern technology has allowed people to indulge in this negative aspect way more than they really should.
