As a Russian, reaction of Americans to Greenland situation is funny and sad at the same time
I read comments from Americans that can be summarised as “I didn’t vote for this!” or “I’m so afraid he will do it” or “I am so ashamed for this country”, and I can’t help but remember the start of the war and how I, personally, lost many international friends and was driven off platforms for trying to explain to people that I didn’t actively choose Putin - he was elected before I was born, and every election since I couldn’t even take part in.
It all fell on deaf ears, and was hard to get through in the moment, coupled with complete change of the way we do business (I lost my job lmao) and loss of connection with many relatives who managed to escape beforehand. So, seeing the support Americans get on this matter (although I don’t believe that he will actually do that) feels bittersweet.
On another note, I feel like Americans can take a tip or two from Russians on how to keep being sane and stable in an oligarchy and during a hypocritical war (which you can’t even call a war), but as always, it’s hard to communicate with Americans on this matter.
Gen-X here. Now that the U.S. Treasury and other departments are getting ransacked by Gen-Zers under Musk, you can see that it wasn't the "older generations" that screwed things up. It's the rich and powerful. This isn't a generational problem. It's a class problem.
We older generations didn't make choices that screwed up the world. We were GIVEN choices, none of which were helpful to future generations. We were always trying to make our way through life. JUST LIKE YOU ARE NOW. Some, obviously, were collaborators (like Musk's young men and women) who are bought off, but don't condemn entire generations for what's wrong today.
Should we blame your entire generation for Musk's Z minions? Of course not!
President Elon Musk and DOGE are reportedly also looking at ways to get rid of the FDIC.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation protects bank deposits up to $250,000 per account, ensuring customers don’t lose their money if a bank fails.
But sure, let’s ditch the FDIC—because bank runs and financial ruin sound like fun!
Who needs deposit insurance when we can just cross our fingers and hope our life savings don’t vanish overnight?
Nothing says “economic stability” like a full-blown financial apocalypse.
So Trump pardoned the guy who sells fentanyl on his website but issues tariffs on Mexico and Canada for not stopping fentanyl?
This is a weird timeline.
🚨 Was Trump’s Meme Coin ($TRUMP) a Setup to Drain Money from His Own Supporters?
I’m an international student from Congo, and I’ve always admired Trump for his business mindset and America-first policies. I was convinced that $TRUMP (Trump’s meme coin) was going to be the next big thing, just like MAGA stocks and crypto. So I convinced my dad to invest $400K into it on January 20th when it was booming.
Now, it’s worth only $90K, and I feel like I destroyed my family’s financial future. My dad has 5 kids studying internationally (USA & Canada), and he spends a lot on our education. This loss is devastating.
But now I’m wondering… was this whole thing a setup? The way $TRUMP was pumped and dumped, and how fast it crashed, makes me think this wasn’t just normal crypto volatility. Was this a planned scam? Who really profited? And why isn’t this being talked about more in mainstream media?
Are we just supposed to accept that millions got scammed, or is there a bigger story here?
List of countries (and EU) Trump has threatened today:
1.Panama
2.Canada
3.Mexico
4.China
5.EU
6.UK
7.Greenland/Denmark
Notice how russia isn’t on that list? You all connecting the dots yet?
The CFPB was created to protect consumers. Scott Bessent, acting director ordered it to cease all work to craft regulations, enforce rules, conduct investigations or provide “public communications of any type,” citing a need to “promote consistency” with Trump's goals. Pathetic.
Elon is already busy sucking the Federal Reserve dry.
OSHA, CFPA and FDIC are all on the chopping block, things that help the American people. They are gutting all consumer protections. Heil Corporate America
Elon Musk has been sent by Putin, because of Trumps incompetance.
Hear me out, but we all know while there's "no definitive proof of collusion", between Trump and Russia in his first term, the investigation was largely constrained because of presidential protections on Trump during a sitting presidency. Trump was supposed to get a WHOLE lot more done his first term, and this is why Putin attacked Crimea during Biden's term. Previously Russia had attacked Crimea during Obama's term claiming that Russian loyalists were under military attack inside Crimea. Obama was largely constrained from too much military aid during the time, due to it still being a time not of unification of bipartisan cooperation, but it still existed. Politicians in America USED to work together on compromises with opposing parties support. It was and still is very much money and business influenced, but largely the compromises still happened. Whether Republican supporters want to admit it or not, the ACA was a compromise from much of the country wanting Universal Healthcare like much of the world we are currently trying to conquer receives. The college forgiveness under Biden was a compromise from the belief of MANY Americans that think education should be government subsidized like most of the countries we are trying to conquer. Russia doesn't support any of those things and is a corrupt oligarch nation of a LOT of racism, and exploitation of minority communities. They were "bad guy" communists in most action films growing up, which led the world on enough to hate them for that stance, but they were still racist and corrupt communists, not universally as a people, but prevalent in society bourgeois. I know EVERYONE always thinks they're the good guy, but there's credible evidence that Russia has been implanting the exact civil unrest among us, through psyops and misinformation to make us to conform to their vision of the future opposed to that of most NATO nations. Identity politics is the reason nothing works right and you don't have a job, or your free speech is being restricted by not being able to suggest things considered largely to be either racist or hateful to be nothing but sensationalism, "This guy couldn't be racist, he's got black friends". It's not always and has never really been about race, its been about conquering and exploiting people that you can deem less useful, despicable, or enemies of the state to enrich yourselves. You convince the populous to hate them for that.
Putin isn't currently allowed into NATO controlled waters in Greenland, which we use that as a reason, saying the Chinese are already everywhere around Greenland, and "they" cant do anything about it. So we need to take over for national security right? To make sure we are safe, because they're mismanaging it? That's what JD Vance said in interview two days ago. Why can't a single journalist push him on the obvious here? They're NATO controlled waters. We are a NATO allied nation. Those ARE our waters, and we are already cleared and okayed to use INTERNATIONAL waters controlled by NATO in order to patrol them.
Trump botched his first term with fumbling the dissolution of NATO, and almost like clockwork after he loses the election? Putin fucking roles in to invade Ukraine saying that western influence is a threat with NATO because a nation that was just attacked and lost land a few years back thought "maybe we need some protection from Russia". We spent 4 years under Biden, having Russian fueled election interference through disinformation fed to us, and not being able to say anything about Trumps Russian connections (that go back years mind you) is anything but "Russia, Russia, Russia", through this time we are provoked into more identity politics with BLM, Patriot Front, Proud Boys, LGBTQ+ and whomever to demonize each other and hate each other. Musk was sent to finish what Trump fucked up the first go around, and we are fucking toast. He doesn't give a shit about laws. He's the richest man in the world.
To Trump support out there......OR HEAVY Trump supporters, your president entered office with a below 50% approval rating nationally. You'll never win a war without declaring martial law on your own people......and you think that's a position of strength?
