That’s like a foundational belief within this culture/community, that powerful political positions exist today as symbolic positions, and those who are “elected” to those positions are chosen in advance, the elections are largely an emotionally engaging scripted theatrical performance between a handful of agents/servants of the elite, and the whole point is to give us the illusion of choice, because we need to still think that we chose our own leaders.

Knowing this, why would you actively engage in the “throwing of tomatoes”? Why would you allow yourself to become emotionally invested in these political figureheads? Imagine what we could accomplish if we all just finally embraced that the elections are a fucking sham and so are the clowns we elect? Puppets for the fucking banks and industrial titans and corporations.
