Add to that... What is Russia going to do with all of their oil they're not selling to us anymore? They can't sell it to China because China has banned Russian imports. Oh you didnt see the news? Seven days ago China 'eased' restrictions on Russian oil imports. It's goes to China. PERMANENTLY.
What is Russia going to do with all that fertilizer we're not buying? China.
What will we do when a sizable percentage of our farms are owned by the enemy and they dont want to share any produce with us?

People aren't seeing the bigger picture here. It's US who is being attacked and it's from all angles and no one is seeing it! Fuck Ukraine. This isn't about them. they're the catalyst. WE ARE THE TARGET.

We are bombarded by rhetoric and narratives, twenty-four-fucking-seven. It’s inescapable.
And yet… there’s this continually growing notion that the masses MUST show their allegiance to a side. Especially to the politically-correct side of a matter.
An expectation to be part of the wider group that’s ‘raising awareness’ through real-life shit like boycotting or as trivial as making your FB header support the latest cause.
But to my first point… WHY? What does this aggressive tribalism do for us? Aside from demonstrate public compliance? Why do simple, small but repetitive acts of ‘support’ hold such a demand over our behaviour?
Tbh. What if I don’t give a fuck? Every other day there’s something new that we should be worrying about or supporting, anyways. So, so what if I don’t care what’s happening around the world unless it affects me?
What the hell can I or most people dealing with their own everyday lives do; when it’s the ‘powers that be’ making decisions at their own discretion anyways….
A few years ago I would have maybe referred back to the importance of politics over anything.
But I’m at a stage now, like many of you here, where I just don’t have faith in the overall system.
So that combined with this constant virtue signalling bashing, that ultimately we know has ZERO impact on how shit unfolds - really opens my eyes to the futility in showing support just for the sake of it.
All it really does it create a collective habit of acting in accordance with expectations and norms on current affairs. Of course, also relative to where you are in the world.

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WAR. If you want to discuss that go to a different post, this is simply addressing the countless comments I see that pose Putin as a dictator of a tyrannical and oppressive government. All through school I was taught that Russia is still a soviet state and a dictatorship (im 22). Yes Russia has a dark and untrusting path but WHO DOESNT. for years I believed Putin was a dictator who killed his way to office and now holds control without the approval of his citizens. That was until my father and I moved there for 6 months. Both Australian born my father still lives there and has more opportunity than here in Australia. What I saw over there was normal people who are EXTREMELY patriotic toward their country and its security all living normal lives under the guidance of a supportive government that is still trying to piece together their country after the fall of the soviet union. Of the hundreds of people I met and still know, I would say 70% are in favour of Putin as president and vote for him every election because they are a democratic state while the others openly dislike him without any issue (contrary to popular opinion they are allowed to dislike their government). Yes every democracy is different, as an Australian where everyone's votes are equal it baffles me when I watch American elections where each state is weighted different making everyone's vote have different weighting, but still it is a democracy.
Now you may not like they guy or agree with him. I DONT SUPPORT THE WAR. And I am not a Russian bot, I'm just sick of this false narrative that he is this evil dictator that supresses all Russians into submission.
