The hysterical response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine means Russia is winning
The ongoing announcements of companies and countries randomly imposing sanctions on Russia is reaching a point of hysteria. Yet, simultaneously including exemptions and delays related to international trade of food, medicine, and energy that involves Russia are popular.
I suspect the modern world will announce 'Russia withdraws' with a notion they give up on Ukraine, when in realty Russia will achieve their primary goal: re-establish the Ukraine government.
Russia preparing for internet shutdown
Authorities isolate networks The government is preparing measures to protect state sites from shutdown The government has instructed all state-owned websites and services to switch to the Russian domain name system by March 11, to abandon foreign hosting and site traffic counters, and to strengthen the “password policy”. This is necessary to protect resources from cyber attacks and the possibility of disconnection from the outside. The Ministry of Digital Development assured that they are preparing for different scenarios, but there are no plans to disconnect Russia from the global Internet. Experts doubt the effectiveness of the proposed measures and note that the world may well turn off Russia itself.

US & Poland to send fighter jets to Ukraine. Putin claims any aircraft sent will bring the departing aircraft country into war
SS: If Poland sends aircraft to Ukraine, and it departs from its border, this could bring Russia in direct conflict with Poland, a NATO member. Why is the US doing this when they know this will lead to a full scale war?

Putin's propaganda
There are five main conspiracy theories about Russia/Ukraine at the moment:
Putin is good and right - e.g. he is against the NWO and invading Ukraine helps prevent or expose it
Putin is bad but right - e.g. his reasons are selfish but NATO and Ukrainian Nazis are legitimate threats and he is right to invade
Putin is bad but so is Ukraine - e.g. Putin is disingenuous and self-serving but Ukraine is a cess-pool so even though Putin is wrong to invade that doesn't mean supporting Ukraine is good
They're all part of the NWO - e.g. they're in it together and it's all theatre to bring about some more nefarious consequences (and there might not even be a war)
We don't know enough - it's too early to support anyone.
Putin loves all of these theories, because each and every one tacitly permits him to invade. This sub is wandering back and forth between these theories, many people constantly telling themselves they are not pro-Putin when they are secretly serving his agenda well by creating a culture of permissiveness.
Bonus extra talking point: "but America invaded countries!" Yeah, and I'm pretty sure this sub was against that back then, so on the whole it's not been an inconsistent stance to be against invasion.

So what if Russia armed the US’s enemies, like the US is doing with the Ukraine?
I think a logical thing for putin to do giving the circumstances is to give Iran the ability to produce nukes and short range delivery capabilities. On the downlow that is. With Plausible deniability. The West is openly arming a country that he’s at war with, why can’t he do the same to the west?
•Arming Iran would drive oil prices sky high further destabilising the west/world and would fill Russia’s coffers.
• It would trigger a (nuclear) arms race in the Middle East, one which many (US aligned) countries there can’t afford (Isreal/UAE/Saudi Arabia/Kuwait/Turkey)
• If Iran actually dropped a phat one on Saudi Arabia it would totally end the petrol dollar and would induce rampant inflation in the US. It would also trigger a Middle East wide Sunni-Shia murder shit show like never before.
•if the Middle East had a nuclear arms race It would also push China towards Russia as it would be the most (relatively) stable source of fossil fuels, outside of North America.
•The west would have to split its forces- it was pivoting away from the Middle East to the pacific, but now with the war in ukraine America is back in Europe. It would have to go into the Middle East again if Iran went nuclear. It also has to still combat China in Asia and Russia in Europe.
I think this is a somewhat plausible scenario, especially if things turn against the Russians in Ukraine. At this point what do they have to lose? A nuclear Iran is no real issue to an Russia isolated Russia that is now sanctioned to the absolute tits. It’s a win win scenario for them, no?
Edit: this isn’t really a post about ‘whataboutism’. Im not making a moral argument or preaching about US hypocrisy etc. It was just really a post about strategy and what I think Russia ‘should’ or could do in order to further its aims and destabilise the west. I don’t really care for Russias geopolitical aims myself. Just thought it would be a smart move if they’re pushed into a corner/ lose Ukraine.
