Another case of foot in mouth for Bush.

“You can’t be the president and the head of the military at the same time” said Commander-in-Chief of the world’s mightiest military force since the British Empire. The statement was targeted at Pakistan’s president Musharraf who has been a stabilising factor for Pakistan and a close ally to the Bush-administration through the “Coalition of the [not so] Willing [anymore]”. Pakistan has taken great steps towards democracy, much thanks to the Pakistani president and his step-by-step plan to return the country to people’s rule. Mr. Bush, however, clearly unaware of his own political and military status as leader of the free world, as usual makes statements his office cannot defend. Perhaps indeed Musharraf should retain military and political power? The premier of the world’s prime example of democratic governance does, after all.
