Why would the elite intentionally collapse the grid?
A lot of people in my online and real life conspiracy circles seem to believe that a collapse of the grid is coming. Meaning a possible global power outage, food shortages etc.
But am I the only one who thinks that could be arguably bad for the elitists and may actually spark an uprising in the masses?
If the power goes out, that means people would actually have to go out and form groups and militias in their local communities. We won't be able to sit infront of our TV and scroll our phones for hours every day talking to our online friends who live on the other side of the world. On top of that if we're all hungry and have to go a few days without food, we may actually learn to grow our own food or go into the wild and actually kill an animal or catch a damn fish ourselves for once.
Right now we live such soft pampered lives where we make just enough money to get by, but so long as we have food in our bellies and a roof under our head, TV/Video games to keep us distracted, we're not gonna rise up and take any real world action. We'll cling to whatever new flashy politician is promising sweeping changes and we'll fill out a bubble on a ballot every four years but that's it. Until our actual SURVIVAL is threatened, we're basically just a bunch of keyboard warriors with no real balls to do anything. I'm no exception here.
If the elite want their dystopian society like we read about in books, it would make more sense to keep everything the way it is and just keep advancing AI to the point where we're basically forced to either become part-synth (transhuman) or be socially outcasted. Just like how you can't really function as a normal human being nowadays without a phone, social ID number, bank account etc. That's the route they try to go in my opinion, because if the grid collapses along with the dollar, the elite essentially lose most of their power and the masses actually become a little hardened by the world and ready to fight.
