Are we being played on the ukraine war? Is this a 1984 type war where both parties are complicit in impoverishing their citizens while funneling money elsewhere?

I've seen several posts on this sub about how zelensky is actually acting. And world leaders moving about in Ukraine with their suits. Feels like theatre. Are we being played here? It could either be an arrangement between Russia and ukraine about getting into a war, killing soldiers on each side, using the fear to propagate other agendas while impoverishing the citizens.
