Reality Winner served 4 years in prison for removing 1 document from a secured location. Former ‘President’ Trump removed a minimum 11 “Sets” of Classified Documents, to include top secret information. A minimum sentence of 44 years years in prison is appropriate.

Quick & timely reminder that the US Government has attempted to overthrow/influence the elections of nearly 50% of countries on earth.

Although I feel Donald Trump is a complete sack of shit, I'm also intensely aware that the CIA (and the American government at large) have decades of first-hand experience influencing foreign elections, removing foreign leaders from power, assassinating candidates in foreign elections, directly supporting the genocide of up to 1 million innocent people who belonged to the wrong political party, or otherwise just bombing the shit out of countries who's government structure they don't like.

I'd go so far as to say: if the US intelligence agencies are good at one thing, it's manipulating the outcome of elections by any means necessary.

Given the timing of this Trump debacle, I can't help but be deeply suspicious that this is simply just business as usual. The CIA/FBI view Trump running in 2024 as a national threat, so they take him out. They've been doing this for 70+ years, so what would stop them now?

I say this as a person who actually does view Trump as an existential threat, so it almost pains me to believe that this whole thing might be a bunch of bullshit, but the precedent has been set for a long, long time.

Which leads me to ask: at what point do we become fools for not viewing current events through the lens of history?
